The Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) is a Seattle-based non-profit research organization committed to developing products to prevent, detect and treat infectious diseases. IDRI translates basic research to develop vaccines, diagnostics and drugs for applications in global health. We focus on antigen discovery and development, adjuvant formulation and delivery, therapeutic molecule discovery and development, and biomarker discovery for diagnostics. IDRI’s leadership in the global health community extends to international alliances and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities, research institutes, governments, and public health organizations.


This is a non-exempt (hourly) position at approximately 40-hours per week.



  • Maintain and reconcile AP and vendor records.
  • Receive and process all vendor billing and payments in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Vendor communications.
  • Process credit card and wire payments to appropriate vendors.
  • Ensure company abides by vendor payment terms and that all accounts are current.
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of accounting records, maintain proper internal controls, and ensure compliance with all relevant company policies.
  • Process accounts receivable and incoming payments
  • Prepare invoices and record receipts’ data.
  • Prepare various month end general ledger entries.
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting problems.
  • Prepare various account reconciliations.
  • Provide various accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
  • Maintain electronic and manual filing systems, including A/P and A/R.


  • Requires an associate’s degree (or equivalent) in business, accounting or related field, and 1-2 years of progressively responsible bookkeeping or general accounting experience, including general ledger responsibilities, preferably in government/grant accounting; or a combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
  • Must have a strong understanding of basic accounting and financial concepts.
  • Must possess basic level MS Excel skills and be proficient with accounting/financial software.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and be able to work on teams.
  • Willing to perform wide range of duties in a smaller organization on an independent level and as a team player.
  • Sage MIP experience is preferred.
