The Data Analyst is responsible for providing data support and analysis to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research. The Data Analyst works with the Senior Data Analyst to develop a robust research data pipeline at the university, which serves to provide accurate and timely insights on the university's research enterprise. Additionally, the data analyst develops complex reports integrating data from various data systems across the university, implementing programs to process and manipulate large datasets, writing queries for extracting data, preparing static and dynamic reports with both tabular and graphical presentations. The reports developed by the data analyst will be used by the Senior Vice Chancellor for Research and shared with other senior leaders at the university, including the Chancellor, Provost and Senior Vice Chancellors.The Data Analyst works closely with senior leaders in developing new reports. To this end, the candidate will work with other members of the team in the analysis, design, testing, and documentation of projects. Finally, the Data Analyst conducts analytics for senior leaders on various topics related to the research activity at the University, including areas of research, research spending, and discipline-specific research performance.The candidate must have experience working within a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to provide accurate data to respond to time-sensitive requests. The incumbent must be proficient in query writing (e.g., SQL, Cognos), visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and programming languages with specialized analytics packages (e.g., Python, R).

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Sciences, Statistics, or related field. Three to five years of experience in database management, business intelligence, or information technology, or some combination of related experience and graduate education will be considered per University guidelines Must be proficient in query writing (e.g., SQL, Cognos), visualization software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and programming languages with specialized analytics packages (e.g., Python, R).
