Applications for part-time faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed if openings become available. These positions are not current vacancies. Instructors employed as part-time faculty are not entitled to all the rights, privileges, and benefits of regular, full-time employees. Part-time faculty are hired on an "as needed" basis and will work for the duration of time specified by the respective course. A portion of teaching assignment may be evening classes and possibly weekend classes.

CPD courses may be taught at any campus, or at an external training site.

This position will c oordinate the operation of San Jacinto College Motorcycle Safety Programs (including but not limited to BRC, ERC, ARC, and other special programs). Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate instructors and examiners for the Motorcycle Safety Programs. Schedule a Rider Coach Preparation Course for new instructors; monitor the recertification requirements of Rider Coaches; provide continuing professional development opportunities for all instructors. Schedule class offerings and assign instructors to all motorcycle programs. Monitor classes and motorcycle ranges. Assist program staff in improving data collection systems; compile data and write reports as required. With the Director, prepare and revise curriculum for the Motorcycle Safety Program to comply with federal and state regulations and align with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation standards. Develop written policies and procedures, establish program standards, and modify as needed. Evaluate instruction, programs, examinations and outcomes to ensure the quality of service and continuation of funding. Advise and assist the Director with implementation of program improvements. Assist the Director with approving and evaluating training programs offered by external organizations. Oversee the maintenance and security of the SJC fleet of motorcycles. B e able to work in adverse weather conditions.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
\r\n
Excellent presentation and communication skills. Knowledge of general marketing principles. Understanding of safety and risk management principles as well as the principles of vehicle dynamics and physical science as they relate to motor vehicles.

Required Qualifications:
\r\n
    \r\n
  • Certification as a MSF Rider Coach Trainer.
  • \r\n
  • Three (3) years of teaching and/or managerial experience. experience as a motorcycle safety instructor preferred.
  • \r\n
  • Valid Texas driver's license with valid motorcycle rider endorsement.
  • \r\n
  • Free of traffic violations for the past three (3) years.
  • \r\n


Hourly rate is based on the Board-approved rate schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
