Job Title:  Real Estate Lending Originations Manager 


Hours:  Standard Business Hours

Job Scope/Duties

Responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all loan origination activities in the Real Estate Lending Department.   Assists with the development, implementation and execution of lending plans, policies, and goals that support organizational strategic objectives.  Ensures that operations (processing, underwriting, funding and post-closing) are conducted in accordance with established regulations, policies, practices, procedures and legal requirements. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of real estate lending originations by developing, recommending and executing policy and program changes as appropriate.  Works with the Vice President of Real Estate Lending to appropriately price mortgage products and services.  Maintains the quality and integrity of lending programs and services.  Provides and promotes an environment of quality service both externally and internally.


 Experience/Minimum Education Requirements

Five to eight (5-8) years of progressive real estate lending experience in a credit union or financial institution.  Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business Administration, Accounting or Finance) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  A minimum of three to five (3-5) years of management experience.  Must have thorough knowledge of credit union loan products, applicable policies and regulations, as well as Fannie Mae and secondary market guidelines. Strong working knowledge of real estate loan servicing and loss mitigation strategies required.


Special Requirements

Strong leadership, technical competency (Loan Origination System, Microsoft Office and other software) and critical thinking skills required. In-depth understanding of government regulations and legal requirements involving lending and related functions.  Familiarity with loan promotions and general marketing practices.  Must be able to register as a Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act Regulations.



Excellent interpersonal, communication (presentation, verbal and written) and project management skills.  Ability to effectively manage and drive a high level of production while delivering a consistently exceptional member experience.
