  • Preparation of ex vivo assays under BSL2/BSL3 conditions.
  • Perform PBMC isolation, intracellular cytokine staining, flow cytometry, ELISPOTS, ELISA and other immunological assays.
  • Utilize established mathematical procedures, graphing programs, and statistical methods to compile and analyze data.
  • Responsible for performing assay development, optimizations, and validations as a primary lead and/or in collaboration with others.
  • Records procedures, outcomes and observations in lab notebook following established guidelines.
  • Monitors laboratory supply inventories and works with purchasing to ensure available stock for group or area.
  • Presents research at group meetings.
  • Communicates with research management on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • A BS/BA, or equivalent in a scientific discipline and 3-10 years of related laboratory experience.

  • Experience and skills with PBMC processing, humoral, and/or cellular immunology.

  • Extensive working knowledge of flow cytometry and experience using FlowJo analysis software.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and scientific data/graphics programs. 

  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and be able to work on teams.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: clinical trials, project management, assay development, assay validation, generating budgets for laboratory procedures, training clinical sites on specimen processing (domestic and international), repository management, management of research associates.

  • Good written and oral communication skills.

  • Able to perform multiple scientific protocols and procedures under direction.

  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
